Women's Fellowship Project

Women's Fellowship and Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery (PWP) are grateful to all who shared in knitting/crocheting beanie hats for the orphans in Swaziland. We brought the hats you made--numbering just about 50--to the PWP Gathering Saturday, Dec. 5. The request for our presbytery was 100; we were overwhelmed with the response and received over 300 hats! Collections from all over the country and world is anticipated to number 15,000 hats. Thanks to you for doing your part! We also thank those who made donations toward the shipping expenses.

On July 23, 2010 Heart for Africa will host an event called Celebrate Litsemba at the National Stadium in Swaziland. Their guests will be 15,000 orphans and vulnerable children who have been left in the wake of the AIDS pandemic. The event is being held in their winter and it is very cold in Swaziland so they want to provide each child with a hat made with love.

The pattern can be found at London Beanie. Write a note, prayer, scripture verse or words of encouragement for the child and tuck it into the hat once it is flat. Contact Mildred Hall if you have questions: ,
